Luminary physicians to collaborate on the future of health care delivery
Santa Barbara, CA, July 5, 2007 – InTouch Health®, the leading provider of Remote Presence solutions for hospitals, today announced the Second Annual Remote Presence Clinical Innovations Forum to be held July 19-21, 2007 in Santa Barbara, CA.
Luminary physicians and thought leaders will present their clinical findings and success stories. Presentations will span the areas of stroke treatment networks, critical care coverage models, emergency department coverage, and surgical training and education. Remote Presence will be discussed as an enabling technology to changing the delivery of healthcare.
InTouch Health Chairman & CEO, Yulun Wang, PhD, will present a vision for a healthcare delivery system without time and space constraints. Dr. Wang is an accomplished entrepreneur and world renowned authority on robotics in healthcare. In 1989, he founded Computer Motion, Inc. (now a wholly owned subsidiary of Intuitive Surgical [Nasdaq: ISRG]) and is widely recognized as the pioneer of the medical robotics industry. Dr. Wang was recently awarded University of California Santa Barbara's 2007 Entrepreneurial Leadership Award.
Richard M. Satava, MD, will deliver the keynote address, "Impacts of Future Technologies on Medicine." Dr. (Col-Ret) Richard Satava is a professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center and Special Assistant in Advanced Surgical Technologies at the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command in Ft. Detrick, MD.
